Magento 2: Rental product can't be added to cart

  1. Please check that Admin > Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Date & Time Custom Options > Use JavaScript Calendar is set to No

Magento 1.9.x: Please check that you do not have "Rentals > Settings > Automatically adjust maximum quantity in cart" to "Yes" in this case you may have 0 quantity available so when it adds to cart it changes it to 0 and basically adds no items to cart.
